Event Info

The tall ship that starred in the 2003 Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl has scheduled a three-week visit to Monterey. The ship is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 8 and offer public tours, sailing excursions, and educational programs through November 25. The ship is the official ship of the state of Washington, and it is a U.S. Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel.

The ship will take part in a special re-enactment of the Bouchard’s attack on Monterey on Friday, November 16. This re-enactment will include a cannon duel with the Presidio, a beach landing of privateers, a lowering of the Spanish and raising of the Argentine flag, with dramatic presentations by actors portraying the principle characters.

Adventure Sails are family-oriented experiences featuring opportunities for guests to help raise a sail, learn a sea shanty, and take the helm of a real tall ship, conditions permitting.

Tickets for all sails are subject to availability, so please call 360-532-8611 for more information. SOLD OUT

Self-guided walk-on tours are a chance to visit the ship and speak to the crews, who will be in period costume. No reservations are required. A $5 donation per person is requested. The ship will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
