Everyone is invited to the Annual Veterans Day Celebration, Sunday at the historic Marina Equestrian Center Park, Fifth Avenue and Ninth Street, in Marina. This free festival offers history, music and exhibits honoring veterans of all eras who have served our country and fought to ensure our freedoms.  Activities include a bike ride, Boy Scout airsoft booth, face painting, miniature horse, community exhibits and much more.  Donuts and coffee is available

ALL VETERANS, PLEASE ATTEND SO WE MAY RECOGNIZE YOUR SERVICE Veterans of all conflicts and services will be honored at this community festival.

Vietnam-era veterans in attendance (1955–1975) will receive DoD 50-year commemorative pins, awarded by Col Lawrence Brown of the Presidio of Monterey. Ben de la Selva and Col Tom Griffin, ret., will offer brief reflections on their Vietnam service.

Other activities include:
• Exhibits and food trucks
• Talk on Coast Guard patrol of local beaches in WWII
• Demonstration of PTSD therapy using horses
• K-9 search and rescue demo
• Marina High School Band
• Make an Operation Gratitude greeting card 
• Greet Lingo the Defense Language Institute canine mascot and Lolipop the miniature horse.

This family-friendly, 11-mile warhorse bicycle tour of Fort Ord starts at 8:30 at the Marina Equestrian Center Park and visits Fort Ord National Monument, CSUMB, and Fort Ord Dunes State Park before returning for the opening ceremony. Cost is $5 to cover insurance.

The Annual Veterans Day Celebration is free and open to all. Hosted by Friends of the Fort Ord Warhorse with partners Veterans Transition Center of Monterey County, City of Marina, and Marina Equestrian Association.
