Upcoming Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 at Laguna Seca: International Fans Await

MONTEREY, Calif., Sept. 22, 2023—The transformation of the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca paddock is nearly complete, as hundreds of crewmembers put the finishing touches on Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7. When the doors open Thursday, Sept. 28, visitors will be greeted by hundreds of the most important Porsche race cars, 50-plus legendary Porsche drivers, team principals and engineers, and myriad of entertaining activities.

“After five years of anticipation and planning, we’re back in Monterey to celebrate ‘Icons of Porsche’ — a fitting title in this 75th anniversary year of Porsche sports cars,” said Ayesha Coker, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America. “Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7 has evolved to become the biggest Porsche gathering in the world, but it’s only possible through the passionate support of everyone who will be experiencing this amazing event.”

Porsche Rennsport Reunion is not only about celebrating its history but points toward its future. The U.S. debuts of concept cars such as the Mission X and Vision 357 Speedster, as well as the new 911 S/T will be held. Additionally, Porsche will conduct a world debut before an international media contingent who will be present to enjoy the experience.

Indicative of the enormity of the event, the extensive build-out began Monday, Sept. 11 and will be completed in 14 days. Massive structures for the TAG Heuer Icons Display, Porsche Carrera Cup and hospitality centers will complement the 300-plus race cars that will be on track each day. Accordingly, hotels and restaurants throughout the Monterey County region have seen an uptick in business well before the tens of thousands of visitors arrive at the popular destination.

“We knew Rennsport Reunion 7 was going to be special the moment tickets went on sale,” commented John Narigi, president and general manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. “VIP hospitality, Porsche corrals and preferred parking were sold out almost immediately, and general sales are tracking far beyond what was achieved the last time Porsche Rennsport Reunion was held here in 2018. This truly is going to be a remarkable automotive and entertainment experience.”

The economic impact is felt throughout the Monterey County region. According to Rob O’Keefe, president and CEO of See Monterey, Porsche Rennsport is contributing greatly to local businesses during a time that the travel season is winding down.

“Porsche Rennsport is a significant event that draws in visitors and greatly contributes to our economic vitality and community prosperity,” said O’Keefe. “Fall is a great time to visit the area and explore the natural beauty of Monterey County and experience the new features at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca."
