All of Monterey County is now open for leisure travel in accordance with CDC guidelines. Leisure travelers are permitted to enjoy the area's hotels, restaurants, wine tasting rooms, art galleries, and outdoor recreation.

Hotels, restaurants and other local businesses have worked hard preparing for your return, implementing operational and physical changes with your health and safety in mind. So, when you’re ready to take a fall  or holiday escape, you can rest easy knowing that Monterey County will be the ultimate safe place to visit with your loved ones.

What You Need to Know
Before You Arrive

All visitors are asked to please observe common sense safety protocols including:

  • employ frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing
  • stay home if and when feeling ill

 

LODGING

Monterey's hotels and inns are now open for guests. Monterey County's hoteliers have implemented Clean & Safe Commitment protocols to ensure the highest level of safety for our visitors, employees and residents. Browse our hotels and contact them for additional questions.

RESTAURANTS

Restaurants are now open with full capacity for indoor, outdoor dining, takeout or delivery services. Many restaurants have expanded outdoor seating experiences to accommodate more guests that prefer to be seated outdoors.

Please be patient when dining and plan ahead of time, reservations is highly recommended! Some restaurants are short-staffed. Show them some love ❤️ and support and please don't jump into writing a bad review. Communicate with your host or server when service is not up to your standards. BEACHES

Beaches are open to visitors to enjoy physical activity and for recreation.

SHOPPING / ART GALLERIES / SALONS / SPAS

Wine tasting rooms, bars and breweries are now open! Many have expanded outdoor patios to accommodate additional guests.

EVENTS

Meetings and events can resume with normal capacity except for large-scale indoor events of 5000+ attendees or outdoors events of 10000+ attendees. Check our official Calendar of Events for the latest.
