Celebrate the 31st Edition of the Carmel Art Festival: A Weekend of Artistic Brilliance in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Mark your calendars for a weekend of artistic splendor at the 31st Carmel Art Festival, a tradition in Carmel-by-the-Sea since 1993. This year's festivities will unfold in scenic Devendorf Park, kicking off at 11 AM on Friday, May 17, and wrapping up at 3 PM on Sunday, May 19.

Art Across the Peninsula
On May 17, sixty distinguished plein air artists—comprising a who's who of past winners over three decades—will descend upon Carmel and fan out across the Monterey Peninsula. For two days, they will capture the area's natural beauty on canvas. Their masterpieces will be showcased, critiqued, and made available for immediate purchase at Devendorf Park starting on Friday, May 19. This is a golden opportunity for art collectors nationwide to acquire freshly minted works of art.

An Exclusive Evening
An invite-only VIP soirée will take place on Friday evening, May 17, from 6 to 9 PM. This exclusive gathering is reserved for past buyers and collectors. Guests will be treated to fine wine, delectable small plates, and live performances. A designated section of Devendorf Park will be cordoned off for this special occasion.

A Day for the Family
Saturday, May 18, promises a day filled with live entertainment from 11 AM to 6 PM. Young artists will have their works displayed, and a "Kids Make Art" day will engage the little ones in creative pursuits. Additional programs and activities are yet to be announced. Festival posters from this year and previous editions will also be available for purchase.

Quick Draw Sunday
On the morning of Sunday, May 19, select artists will engage in a Quick Draw challenge. They will have just two hours to complete a new painting, which will then be brought back to Devendorf Park for evaluation and sale.

Sculpture Showcase
Throughout the weekend, Carmel-by-the-Sea galleries will feature sculptures in Devendorf Park. Notably, renowned local sculptor Steven Whyte will be crafting an oversized sculpture of a celebrated figure. The grand unveiling will take place on Sunday.

Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in a weekend of artistic excellence. We look forward to seeing you there!
