Wild Foraging Walk and Talk

The Big Sur Foragers Festival is thrilled to bring back its popular “Wild Foraging Walk and Talk” mushroom hikes, doubling the opportunities for adventure this year!

• Dates: Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26, 2025
• Hikes: Two hikes of 30 participants each per day, totaling four hikes over the weekend (120 hikers max).
• Start Time: 9:30 a.m. at The Big Sur Lodge in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park (location subject to change pending road and weather conditions).
• Cost: $75 per hiker (NO REFUNDS).

Led by mushroom experts Mark Gillespie, Anthony Gerbino, Todd Spanier, and Dr. Phil Carpenter, these hikes offer a hands-on exploration of the incredible world of wild mushrooms. Before the hike, enjoy an informative talk and a captivating display of local wild mushrooms, provided by Lisa Haas and Maryia Crabbe. Learn about mushroom identification, medicinal and culinary uses, and other fascinating details.
